The History of Tucson Creative Reuse.
Ephemera Pack Collection
During a trip to Oakland, CA this past year I had the privilege to present to a local group of makers. In preparation of this presentation I needed some materials and did not want to fly with a bunch of art supplies so we visited the East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse and I fell in love!
I have been shopping at thrift stores for treasures and necessities for the past 44 years. I grew up using recycled material to create art, fix problems, and learn from experts. The skill of scouring the shelves for neat things that need a second life has come in handy in both my professional career as a teacher, and my personal creative life as a maker. I have an eye for the odd and interesting.
With Tucson Creative Reuse I have pulled together a team of local artisans who produce art, find cool old things, and collaborate together to build an even more robust and kind maker community in Tucson.
Our mission is to build a stronger, more inclusive community between makers, artists, crafters, and the Tucson community by sharing materials, resources, and ideas.
